What is a typical Party?

We are often asked what a typical 2-hour SPANGLES KIDS PARTY entails and whilst all
parties are individually tailored, and we will alter to suit your requirements you can
expect us to entertain throughout and a flexible approximate format as follows:

  • Spangles will arrive approx. 20-30 minutes before the party to set up. We just need a table near a power point. We can work from a stage, or a room corner and you can leave us to set up things fully and safely.
     
  • Guests arrive to the latest hits and film musical favourites will be played.
     
  • Once the guests are all there Kim will start the party with a hello to the birthday boy or girl and an introduction to the activities for the party.
     
  • DANCE COMPETITIONS. With prizes for best dancers and silliest dancers amongst others. We try and make it as inclusive as possible, and prizes are generally Haribo sweets or similar.
     
  • “catch the bubbles” along to the latest dance floor party favourites. The game is to stop the bubbles hitting the floor!
     
  • TRADITIONAL PARTY GAMES
    e.g., usually one or more of the following: Pass the parcel, Musical Statues, Musical Bumps, Musical Chairs. Other games can be catered for and could include “Wrap the Mummy” or Limbo. (Where possible we will not have “losers” on any games, particularly for younger children’s parties) A Parcel and all games prizes will be provided by Spangles assuming a typical party of up to 50 children. (please let us know prior to the date if numbers are considerably higher etc)
     
  • more party dance favourites follow, Spangles can arrange it so that the birthday boy or girl leads THE CONGA
     
  • FOOD BREAK: Approximately at the Mid-Point. Spangles will keep the music going in the background but it’s time for the children to sit down for food and its important they have a drink and sit down as they are usually very thirsty and tired after all the dancing and games! We recommend allowing at least 30 minutes for a cold buffet and 30-45 mins if hot food. After the food it is also a good opportunity to do HAPPY BIRTHDAY and THE CAKE
     
  • The children then return to the dance floor for more party dances, and this is a good spot to do any favourite tracks, movie/Disney/ musical songs or special requests for the birthday boy or girl. These can be played along with more BUBBLES! Popular choices here will be the latest chart hits or songs from the last few years and also from Disney movies or west end productions (Frozen, Encanto, Grease, Mama Mia and I Like to Move It perennial favourites!) but we often get requests to play songs that the kids have learned for school productions, and you might be surprised to find these are often songs from your own childhood! We can usually cater for most things already but just let us know in plenty of time before the party etc
     
  • Treasure Hunt- A unique and perennial Spangles Children’s Disco favourite that the kids all love, and it gives everyone there a chance to take part and win a prize!
     
  • PARTY ACTION SONGS will then follow, and this can be traditional things like Hokey Cokey, Cha Cha Slide, YMCA, Music Man, Superman, Timewarp, Baby Shark or other age-appropriate interactive tracks with all the children on the dance floor.

Towards the end of the party Spangles keep the music going whilst you do things like party bags and the children are collected by their family. We will pack down whilst you complete whatever you need to do to return the room and will take payment at this point if not already sorted. Please note we regret we cannot accept cheque payment.
